1. Bodyweight jump squats

These are simple, but may take some getting use to. If you haven't done these, don't go overboard to begin with. It's an advanced exercise. If you are severely overweight (40+ pounds), you may want to avoid this exercise because it does take a toll on your ligaments and joints.

All you do is squat down until your thighs are just below parallel to the ground. Then you explode up and jump as high as you can. Keep repeating. These firm and tone the thighs fast. Work up to the point where you can do 4 sets of 10 in less than 5 minutes. Start out with perhaps 4 sets of 5 repetitions in 5 minutes.

2. Rapid standing long jumps

The beauty of this and the previous exercise is that you can do them at home and finish each of them up in less than 5 minutes. With rapid standing long jumps, what I want you to do is find a place where you can do some standing long jumps.

Then what you do is swing your arms and explode and jump as far as you can. Keep repeating this as fast as you can. Make sure to put 100% effort in the jumps.

Do as many jumps as you can in 45 seconds. Then rest 45 seconds. Repeat this for a total of 4 separate 45-second jumping sets.

These little-used exercises that you can do at home in a short amount of time are a great way to tone legs fast.
