Physio Ball Exercises for Lower Body : Warming Up Leg Muscles & Joints Using a Physio Ball

Is a 30 minute run good for building leg muscles?

I do some squats and things for my glutes, but will running for 30 minutes build up my calf/upper leg muscles?

The running will strengthen your leg muscles but will define those muscles more than build them up.
Leg extensions will work your quadriceps (the group of muscles on the front of your thigh), leg curls will build the biceps femoris (back of your thigh) and toe raises (standing, with or without holding extra weight, with your toes on a board and raising up and down) is one exercise to work one of your calf muscles (gastrocnemius). Another calf muscle, the soleus, is a little trickier to target (it hides behind the gastrocnemius and only really shows to the sides of your calf - it's a critical muscle for jumping, though).
More weight with fewer repetitions will build the size and strength of your muscles, more repititions with lighter or no weight will create definition and endurance in those muscles.
Running will work the most important muscle in your body - your heart! And it will also tone those leg muscles and target all those other little supporting muscles that help you keep your balance.
GO FOR IT, as part of an overall work-out plan.

Description

The Adjust-a-Lift is sold in single lifts, not pairs. The Adjust-a-Lift is made of 1/8" three layers of neoprene rubber and a layer of leather on top. The layers can be removed to get approximately the right height when placed in the shoe. One layer provides 1/8" lift, 2 layers, 1/4" lift and 3 layers 3/8" lift. The layer of leather makes this more of a lift than a pad; similar-looking products with a nylon top are generally too soft and spongy to serve as heel lifts. The main advantage of the Adjust-a-Lift is that you need not remove the insole or foot bed of your shoe to use it, as the top leather cover is absorbent and comfortable underfoot. However, it cannot be cleaned but can be expected to last as long as the pair of shoes in which it is placed. The neoprene material used is somewhat compressible, so you may notice your heel moving up and down or rubbing in your shoe slightly when walking with an Adjust-a-Lift. The foam will also compress slightly as you walk on it, so the height it provides will become less over time. The Adjust-a-Lift is usually used in closed-heel fashion. For open heel lifts, please see Clearly Adjustable Heel Lifts.
