What things would make your legs look longer?

Me and a friend were at some cool, dumb party and everybody was commenting on her long legs and as I looked at a photo I realised we have EXACTLY the same height and EXACTLY the same proportions (legs, shoulders, etc.)... but her legs did LOOK longer when I looked... is it maybe just her body shape or if she's skinnier? What things could you do to make your legs look longer and what other things do people have that make them look longer?
Also are there any body-shapes that 'compliment' your legs more?

heels, knee & a little lower length skirt, skinny jeans, dark colored jeans, vertical striped pants...
