It was the mid-1990s that became popular portable units. They are used as a belt with electrodes that are connected to skin with adhesive patches. As these changes EMS devices have been created, there has been a great growth in the EMS market. Most items are purchased by mail order and now come in different colors and prints like leopard, cow print, and even zebra stripes. This is so that the devices will appeal to some customers young.

But with the growing popularity of these devices, the FDA had to intervene to regulate as far as what reasons should be used. In 1970, when EMS devices were popular in salons, a device called the Relaxacisor, which was a vest that high voltage shocks has been developed. The FDA had to intervene and notify the post office to find these mail order devices because the vest was a threat. Other reasons why the FDA had to intervene were first, that EMS devices are not recommended for young children and teens.

Sexiest styles and prints that have emerged in the last decade are for those in their mid-teens to early twenty five years. Children do not need to be using these devices, for the reasons in which many people use them for, that is bodybuilding. Children are growing and usually get enough exercise running and playing. What EMS devices do is to help strengthen, tone and build muscle endurance.

However, since the creation of EMS devices, doctors have used for a variety of reasons. They are especially useful for those who are paralyzed, in pain relief and improve blood flow in people with poor circulation. Chiropractors also used for back injuries in order to relax the muscles, quicker healing time for patients.

As the use of EMS devices has increased, other variations of them have gone to market to those used during intense athletic training. They are available in different concentrations, as the maximum force that is considered comparable to weight training, endurance and recovery that reduces the possibility of delayed onset muscle soreness, and explosive strength that is used for those involved in sports that involve rapid movements.

It is clear that EMS devices have come a long way from Egyptians on the use of an electric fish to relieve pain to the discovery of the 1960 EMS devices for medical purposes were great. Since then, bodybuilders have found beneficial uses that help in weight training and more and more people are benefiting from being hit by low voltage devices EMS to relieve ailments and to help strengthen and tone your body.
