As the title says, describing a series of exercises that focus on developing and shaping the thigh and ... errr ... rear end. Am I allowed to say "ass?"
I find it somewhat ironic, and possibly against the central tenants Pilates, which is - as the early chapters explain - a system of comprehensive health exercise your body.
So I guess some would say it's not right to write and publish a book on Pilates dedicated to only part of the body. Well, they did, no doubt because they know that there are many women who do not care no overall health and posture, but want a more well-proportioned ass and thighs slimmer.
The first forty pages or less identical to the other books in the series. There are some chapters that explain the basics of Pilates for persons who are not familiar with it. There are eight short chapters on the elements life: concentration, breathing, centering, control, neutral spine, precision, and isolation.
The training is divided warm up, basics and exercises that specifically work the thighs and buttocks.
The warming is similar but not identical to other warm up on the series, rolling, stretching Runner Quad stretch, stretch hamstrings dynaband, balance sheet and balance 2.
Next: Balance a hundred, control, swimming, push-up, side kick, lift the other, a circle of the leg (low), a circle of the leg (high), single leg stretch, rotation of the hip, knee circles, hand shears, scissors, pull the leg in supine leg Plank prone, bridge shoulders, knees, side kick, Double Leg Stretch and the Can Can.
All exercises are well described and illustrated with photographs.
As I see it, the two main obstacles are:
It is difficult to practice Pilates exercise effectively as efficiently as possible, because the demand for mental concentration, most of which of us are not accustomed to apply to the movements of our body. In addition, on our own without a teacher, it is difficult to determine with certainty if we performing accurately.
The second obstacle is that Pilates can not overcome bad eating habits and lots of fat - flab - stored in thighs and rear. You can have terrible build muscles in their thighs and buttocks, but no one can see that they are all covered with pounds of extra fat.
This is the case elsewhere as well. Most kids have a six pack abs - but you can not see because it is covered with grease.
Exercise is important, and Pilates is great for comprehensive development, the whole body balanced.
But if you want for your legs and ass to look less flabby have to lose weight and exercise.
