what are ways to build up breaststroke arm muscles through exercise?


what exercise can I do out of the water in order to build up my arm muscles for "hungarian" or "wave" breastroke?
hopefully without much equipment

it doesnt help much but try by practicing breaststroke for about 4 laps just arms
if this startts to hurt try just ur legs to (which is very helpful)

but just to let you know you dont have to have extremely good arms to breaskstroke
i currently hold the record for breststroke in my county and i can swim almost the sam speed reguarly compared to just my legs

Always warm up before each session with some cardiovascular training like skipping, running, cycling or whatever you like. Around 15-20 minutes will do.

Next one will want to build up arm strength and this can be done in a gym or at home. Incidentally ladies, if you are worried you will bulk up on this advice you will not. For the biceps, the muscles which flex the arm, good old fashioned pull ups or pull downs, if you have access to a machine are great to build their strength. Pull ups can be done in the gym or at home with palms facing front or back as alternatives positions.

When you have built up your strength, you can start on alternating with isolation exercises. These are exercises that tone the muscle group you are targeting such as seated barbell curls for biceps or dumbbell extensions for the triceps. The idea here is for increased is to mix and match. If working out at home you should consider investing in some dumbbells and/or barbells. You, of course will have all you need at the gym.
